The MedForce flight crew’s dedication to the Medforce mission is demonstrated every time MedForce is dispatched to a scene for a critical patient, or to a hospital to transport a critically ill patient in need of immediate intervention for life saving measures.

Mr. Takacs founded MedForce in 2000. And currently is President/CEO.

Melissa Wanek, Human Resources Manager

Melissa is MedForce's Human Resource Manager and has been part of our team since 2004. Melissa holds a master’s degree in Administration, and is a certified PHR-Human Resource Manager and Billing and Coding Specialist. She says, “Providing lifesaving critical care service to the community is an honor. The strength of the company is the crew. The MedForce team is safety focused, highly skilled and compassionate.”

Gary Robertson, Director of Operations

Certifications: CCP

Gary currently serves as a MedForce Flight Paramedic and has been part of our team since our beginning in November 2002. Gary says, “I enjoy all aspects of flying, along with the critical thinking and challenges of the patients we fly.”

Justin Hicks, Lead Flight Nurse

Certifications: RN, BSN

Justin Hicks, RN, BSN, currently serves as a MedForce Lead Flight Nurse and has been part of our team since July 2013. Justin currently holds the following certifications: TNS, TNCC, PHRN, PHTLS, NRP, AHA Instructor for ACLS, PALS and BLS. He says, “I enjoy the chance to make a difference in someone’s’ worst day and flying with MedForce allows me to help those in need. I work with some amazing people who are like family to me and that is very difficult to find.”

Miranda Benner, Lead Flight Nurse

Certifications: BSN, CFRN

Miranda Benner BSN ,CFRN Miranda currently serves as a MedForce Lead Flight Nurse. She's been with MedForce since June 2016  “I enjoy working for Medforce because of the care we are able to provide to our patients. Growing up in rural Iowa majority of our healthcare systems do not have the resources that our critically ill patients need. Being able to provide quick timely transport to larger facilities so patients can get the additional resources needed. Our staff is one big family, we work hard to get the job done for our patients and keep each other accountable and safe.”

Brian Dille, Flight Nurse

Certifications: RN, PHRN

Brian Dillie, RN, PHRN, currently serves as a Full-Time MedForce Flight Nurse and has been part of our team since 2017. He says, “I enjoy the patients I work with and being able to help them in such a terrifying and stressful time. I also enjoy the amount of teamwork and unity there is on every shift. At MedForce we are a great team and family, truly a great place to work.”

Carol Zimmerman, Flight Nurse

Certifications: BSN, CFRN, PHRN

Carol Zimmerman, BSN, CFRN, PHRN, currently serves as a MedForce Flight Nurse and has been part of our team since July 2004. She says, “I enjoy the difference our team can make in the lives of our community - differences not only in patient care, but health education too. I also enjoy mentoring the upcoming generation of new health care providers and fostering their knowledge by training and support.”

Janna Wilkins, Flight Nurse

Certifications: RN, BSN, CEN, CPEN

Janna Wilkins, currently serves as a Full-Time MedForce Flight Nurse and has been part of our team since 2019.  She has worked in Emergency Medicine since 2002. 2 years Neo/Peds Transport. BLS ACLS PALS NRP ENPC TNCC PHTLS STABLE  She loves spending tiem with family, rididng her motorcyle, reading and loves college and NFL football.

Andy Summitt, Critical Care Flight Paramedic

Certifications: CCP

Andy currently serves as a Part Time Flight Medic that has been with MedForce since 2006.

Andy is a Captain with the Muscatine Fire Department, Andy and his wife Heidi have three children; Bailey, Cameron and Morgan. He is an avid golfer and loves the Iowa Hawkeyes.

He currently holds the following certifications: NREMT-P, CCP, PALS, NRP, PHTLS, EMS-Instructor, CPR, FF1, FF2, Haz-Mat Tech, Confined Space Tech, Arson Investigator, Fire Instructor and  Vehicle Rescue Tech 2. He says, “What I enjoy about working at MedForce is being a part of a team of providers devoted to providing Critical Care to the extremely sick and injured and hopefully making a difference in those people’s lives.”

Randy Wolfe, Flight Paramedic

Certifications: CCP

Randy currently serves as a MedForce Flight Paramedic and has been part of our team since 2004. Additionally, Randy serves as EMS Chief of the Eureka-Goodfield Fire Protection District and has over 40 years of EMS experience. He says, “I enjoy working with MedForce because I get to work with a team that feels like a close knit family. I am privileged to care for the patients and communities we serve.”

Gary currently serves as a MedForce Flight Paramedic and has been part of our team since 2012. Gary’s favorite part about working for MedForce is giving the highest level of care to the ill and injured.

Andy Morrow, Flight Paramedic

Andy currently serves as a MedForce Flight Medic and has been with our team since 2004.  He's worked at Medic EMS since 1996 in Eldridge ADM. His hobbies include hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Mike currently serves as a MedForce Flight Paramedic and has been part of our team since 2018. Additionally, Mike serves as EMS Supervisor for MEDIC EMS.

Taylor Ackles, Flight Nurse

Certifications: RN, CCRN

Tayler currenlty servers as a full-time flight nurse with MedForce. Her main background in nursing is ICU specializing in cardiovascular ICU.  She also has experience in emergency nursing at a small critical access hospital and volunteers as an EMT for her local fire department. 

She says"I knew I always wanted to work for MedForce when I started working as a patient care technician in the ICU at Genesis East while I was in nursing school. I always looked up to the MedForce staff and admired the patient care they provided. I am thankful to be able to provide high quality care and timely transport to the patients that need us. We show up to a patient's worst day of their lives sometimes and it is rewarding to be able to help them through that.”

Jessica Goetz, Flight Paramedic

Jessica currenlt serves as a part time paramedic for Medforce. She has been a paramedic since 2001 and has worked in EMS in several states. She started flying  part time for MedForce in 2023, and enjoys learning from her co-workers and sharing her knowledge and experience.

Richard Dyer, Flight Nurse

Certifications: CEN, CFRN

Richard currently serves as a full time flight nurse with Medforce. He has been a nurse for 10 years, with 7 years of ER nursing prior to becoming a flight nurse. And has his CEN and CFRN certifications.

Taylor Buchholz, Flight Paramedic

Certifications: CCP

​Taylor currently serves as a full time paramedic at Medforce. He started working in EMS in the spring of 2013 when he was in college. He is married and has a black lab named Summit. Other than EMS, his passion is archery. “I work part time at F6 Outdoors Archery Pro Shop as a Bow Technician and I’m also an avid bowhunter. In the summer and winter months I compete in competition archery as well. My wife and I enjoy camping and being in the outdoors during our time off. I also enjoy hiking and climbing mountains in Colorado as well as playing golf when I can.”

Andrew Skinner, Flight Paramedic

Certifications: CCP

Andrew currently serves as a part time Flight Medic. Andrew is employed full time with the Burlington Fire Department and is an instructor for the Illinois Fire Service Institute in Champaign, IL. 

Andrew enjoys problem solving and being a reliable member of the flight crew. He is proud to be part of the Medforce family; dedicated to providing compassionate and skilled care to patients and their families during their most challenging times.

MacIntyre Walters, Flight Paramedic

Certifications: CCP, AAS

MacIntyre currently works part-time at MedForce as a Flight Paramedic and has been with MedForce since May of 2023. He works full-time as a Lieutenant for the Burlington Fire Department where he has been employed since 2017. He's been involved in fire and EMS for approximately 10 years now. He also works part-time as an EMS Adjunct Instructor at Southeastern Community College for EMS programs. He currently hold the following certifications- NREMT-P, CCP, BLS, ACLS, PALS, EMS Instructor/Evaluator, FF1, FF2, Haz-Mat Operations/Awareness, DOP/DOA, Fire Instructor 1/2, Fire Officer 1/2, Fire Inspector, and National Incident Safety Officer. 

 On his days off, he enjoy spending time with my friends, loved ones, and my dogs. I am a big Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoy my Saturday Hawkeye football games. Go Hawks!  ” I take a great amount of joy in simply helping anyone in any way that I can. Coming from a background in the fire service and EMS, I enjoy working as a team to problem solve and help people. MedForce Aeromedical Transport is an amazing EMS service with amazing EMS providers that do just that. I enjoy that every day and every call is different.”

Ryan Frisk

Certifications: FP-C

Ryan currently works as a Part time Flight Paramedic at MedForce. He joined our team in March of 2023. He has 25 years in EMS, 19 years as a paramedic, and 13 years as a Critial care paramedic. He currlently works full time wiht Ridge Ambulace as a Critical Care Paramedic working on a critical care chase car.
